I looked everywhere to find a new one for my Alden Thomas GTO restoration with LS3. New ones, the ones that are correct for a Fiero, are extremely difficult to find.
I bought two on the West Coast and have nearly $2K in each one. Price is $2k plus freight. It will cost around 300-400 to ship it, bolted on a pallet to Utah.
New ones are around but in the hands of Fiero and kit car people hanging on to them. The going rate, when available, is $1500 and up.
I also have a set of the brand new GM Restoration GT tail light lenses from Keith Goodyear at Bellyacres. They're still in an opened box with GM Certified marking on the carton . As soon as my 88GT V8 sells, these new unopened lenses will be up for sale. Have a used set to sell as well,------------------

Hey Steve, I’ll be in Massachusetts this week and I’m interested in the trans. I do see these going for $1200 brand new on ZZP’s website, so are you negotiable on price?

His had the GM Metric pattern and would bolt to all the common fiero engines.
The one at ZZP is for the ecotec and has a different bellhousing pattern and an even lower first gear.

From what I understand the F40 transmissions are rare because they were only used on the2006 Pontiac G6. 2012-X Chevrolet Cruze 1.8L, 2011-2017 Buick Regal and 2013-2017 Buick Verano. The rest of the applications are on cars with European engines. Problem is that only a few F40 applications have the FWD bell housing pattern that will fit Fiero engines.
