Super Duty engine, Race prepared Getrag, Carbs (Page 1/4)

I have a Pontiac SD4 engine, race prepared Getrag, Weber carbs, MSD ignition and SD half shafts that I won't likely use. I decided to go in a different direction. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of tech data on this engine as of now. I had details in a file, but haven't been able to find the file. So I will do my best to find any answers I can. But for now...

The engine, I was told, is the same series as the SD engine that was in the official Pace Car. Here are some pictures...

Race Getrag - SOLD

Super Duty half shafts. Box has John Callies name on it.

If anyone is interested, we can discuss it here. Thanks.

What is "Race prepared" ? Is it usable on the street? Or has it straight-cut gears, etc?

Do you know the compression ratio? And how long has it been sitting?

As I understand it, certain parts are “cryo-treated”, supposed to make them stronger. And yes, the gears are straight-cut. Supposedly not easy to drive on the street.

Don’t know. As far as I do know, it’s a dead stock SD. It’s been sitting in my shop for at least ten years.

I’ve asked the guy I bought the parts from to help answer questions. Hopefully, he will join us.

The parts were bought by my friend from Canadian racer Jack Ondrak.

One more thing...I have Fieros for sale, if you need a platform to build on.

Very cool race parts.

If anyone is looking for something that runs on regular gas and to go to the local Home Depot in they obviously clicked on the wrong thread. The title should have been a hint.

Good luck with the sale.
