I put a Dodgerunners idler setup on my '87 GT soon after buying it in 2019. i have never been disappointed with it. In fact, I put one on every factory Fiero I tag , insure, and drive. I keep one in the box, just for ...possible future purchases. ------------------ Michael Shane Wilcher

The first time in 16 years of selling the tensioner. Someone asked if setting the timing was any issue with it in the way. I never gave that a thought and no one has ever brought that up before today. Wondered if others have dealt with that. Or does looking straight down work?

Not at all.
A far greater issue to check on is making sure the outer ring of the harmonic damper hasn't slipped (which of course would totally screw up the timing marks).
