OK, I know a lot of you are waiting on orders. Good news they were burned this afternoon. Clean up and bending (if needed) will happen over the next couple of days and I will then be shipping. I will get pics up as soon as they are ready. The full shifter surround looks great. I hope that they bend correctly.

Here is the latest part That I am attempting. The shifter surround was shot on the '86 GT :



And here is the new:









This one is made out of 14 ga stainless which is way to heavy. 18 ga will be the norm. All edges will be hemmed over for a rounded edge similar to the original. This one fit like a glove and looks pretty good for the first attempt. I have a little trimming to do since I took the wrong measurement for the ashtray.

Did the clean up get done and were they shipped? I am waiting on a 4 piece dash trim kit.

wow this is great work.
how much for the shifter surround plate? it looks like it deletes the ash trays. looks better to me.
the shifter surround could be wrapped in vinyl. any idea on what the price will be for the surround?

It can be done with or without ashtrays. The new surround will come in around $65.00 They can be vinyl coated. I am toying with the idea of making it one piece. Completely get rid of the stock surround and I am thinking of cutting the R N D 2 1 into the new face and reusing the stock boot. The manual doing the same. The only problem is how to tie it all down. I am thinking of using a couple of long small screws that would go all the way down to where the current screw holes are. You will see these from the face.

any chance these are the same size as the brittle plastic/fiber stuff that makes up the surrounds shape? recover it in vinyl so it looks stock to the trained Fiero enthusiasts eye...
