I raced on July 5th. Did pretty well. I had some weird issue I didn't know about coming into the race that may have been related to the last one. For the last 2 races, I feel from my steering wheel a knocking sensation left and right on the highway driving to/from the track so I suspect I have a bad front wheel bearing. I've had a broken rear sway-bar end-link. I think both those issues came to light when I had to go WOT in the final 2 races I did yesterday in turn 2 to keep up with the fastest competitors. I am awaiting the videos to be released. We've had FIOS out for over 24 hours. It got restored this morning so I'm sure that delayed the youtubers from uploading.
I will add the pic of my broken end-link in an edit.

Next race isn't for 4 weeks. I have a lot of changes planned including fixing the swaybar end-link, possible front wheel bearing...probably use an S10 bearing if needed. Electric water pump conversion, E85 compatible fuel filter, E85 compatible engine oil, E85 tuning.[This message has been edited by lou_dias (edited 07-06-2025).]

Just another day at the track...sort of. Fast forward to round 2.. I am happy to say I've matched the speed of one of the fastest cars on the track.
I had fixed the swaybar end-link so my over-steer issue was gone but I probably babied turn 2 a little too much and should have hammered it a hair sooner and allowed my car to slide out a little. If I had done that, he probably wouldn't have caught up to me leaving turn 2. I don't think I would have interfered with his line because he slid to the outside to run the line he needs to run. So I'm inside and I brake hard entering 3 so we are side-by-side now. At the apex, we both gave it a little more and I understeered into him just as he oversteered into me. Our wheels made contact and it straightened us out for a second. From this angle that is what makes it look like I pushed him, but I didn't. Our tires rubbed and makes us go straight. If I didn't understeer to match his oversteer he might have clipped me in the door area or rear quarter. You can see an example of this in this very video where the red corvette oversteered into the 78 Camaro.
I was unable to continue because, if you recall, I had a crap shop do my engine install and they wired a fuse in my engine bay to the fuel pump because they shorted by injector wiring causing the engine to flood - so they added this fuse to have a fast way to cut the pump. Well, that fuse blew. :/
In this angle you can see him oversteer by looking at the Camaro's rear end.

Lou, I came across the first video at YouTube before seeing it here. I noticed you were getting crapped on in the comments by that tool who's been butt-hurt over Archie for the last 20 years. Any criticism by him is a positive in my books.

That's just Shauna H. He/she's been banned here for ages.
He/she ignores the fact that I would have beaten that Camaro whether we hit or not because that Camaro would have oversteered at some point no matter what. He/she ignores the fact that that very car/driver won the whole event a couple of weeks ago. He/she Ignores the fact that me and the other driver are cool with each other so no need for the peanut gallery to get their panties in a bunch. He/she ignores the fact that I braked hard going into turn 3 where as the Camaro didn't and got in too close to me just before oversteering.
The retard can't keep a motor running a month and has never run circle track. Just likes to talk crap about people who've done business with V8 Archie. An ignorable and irrelevant troll.
Here's the Tberg Media angle and you can see it was only close because I braked hard going into turn 3 and the Camaro didn't. You could argue he knew he might hit me and did it anyway...but that's racing. People who race circle-track understand this. People who don't just talk their crap and never show up on the track to back it up.

Not much to see in yesterday's race. Didn't have time to get new tie-rods installed since so much time was spent chasing-down and fixing the fuel pump wiring - so the wheel from the last race's contact was still towed out 10-15 degress.
I raced anyway because that's what I do. In the second round, the excessive tow caused too much steering in turn 2 and me to hit the infield lip when I was attempting to hug the inside ... which made me have to slow down to not get pulled into it. The roll resistance slowed me down too. Should be taken care of for the next race.
Looking forward to that little b!tch Shauna's comments. We all laugh about her at the track...and I am glad to occupy so much headspace that she reads this thread.

Finally got my tie-rod fixed so my speed was back.
In the first round, I fluttered the gas a little too much at the wrong time and spun like crazy off the launch. Lost in the 2nd round to the event winner. I made the mistake of thinking he was gonna spin out rather than allowing a little more drift to gain speed coming out of turn 4.
