I know which one your talking about, I placed a couple bids on it. But ended up finding a ad in the paper for a guy with 3800SC parts so I called him up. He had a complete engine still in a 97GTP that had been hit from the side. So I picked it up from him, he lives in Fort Wayne. He had a real nice garage with about 6 Grand Prix's he was parting out lol.

I wouldnt asume that ryans pinout list there will work directly for you, as the 97 is 2 generations older in the wiring department than the scematic that is posted there.
I didnt go through and look whats different but I asume that there are some things out of line.
Go look at my swap thread, me and adam (3.4turbotdc) posted a GREAT wiring thread based on 98's there

I am the one that made the pinout list that I posted...I went through all the wiring over and over, and remade the diagram a couple times to get it how I wanted it, and easier to read. It helped a ton while wiring up the engine. Spent many hours doing my reasearch to get this as close as possible. When I went to wire it up I did notice a couple of things that were off, but it was easy to figure it out when you had the wires in front of you. 98 wiring diagrams won't help me to much considering its a different year and some things were changed.[This message has been edited by greengoblin0129 (edited 10-28-2006).]

11-12-06 WIRING IS DONE!!! I decited to place the PCM in the trunk. Still have to put some wire loom on, and replace the vac lines. Order new valve cover, water pump, and oil pan gaskets from zzperformance.com. Only wiring I still need to do is for the fuel pump. Heres some pics:

It was cool seeing your car at Auburn. I'm glad to see that you will be running a 3800SC and it looks like you are making fantastic progress.
Keep up the good work! (and keep the pictures coming.........)

it looks pretty rough. I really want to do a TDC swap someday. Somthing about 4 cams is attractive.
Why did you put the 3800 on a stand? It looks like its ready to mount on a cradle.

Yea it's pretty rough, the alternator is froze up too I noticed lol. Reason why I put it on a stand was to swap out the oil pan, and have to remount the alternator still. Going to mount it where the A/C use to go. Lot easier doing it in the air then on the ground. Won't get any work done on the engine today becuase I had a fuel injector wire rip out on my other 87GT. Have to replace the fuel injector part of the wiring harness.
