Wow Joe, finally finished this thread. The car looks great and you have me thinking of a 3.4 for one of my cars. Whenever I get a garage I will probably pick your brain on how you did some of this stuff.

Ben I located a box about the right size today for your 120 Speedometer. I will take it to the post office tomorrow.
I am pretty happy with the 3.4. I am thinking about a 4T60 overdrive for an over the winter project. I am turning 3000 rpm at 70 MPH. Our Malibu is only running around 1800 rpm for the same speed. I think you will be happy with the 3.4. Joe

I plan to swap the engine and trans out at the same time. I think a 3.4 would be good for Becca's car because she likes the look of the stock 2.8 and was fine with the power her auto had. I figure a 3.4 and newer auto trans would work will for her 84.

Best that you locate a parts car for the swap. One you can keep near. You can't remember how stuff was installed or indexed until it is crunch time. You will discover a thousand things and fasteners you need when you get to installing it back in the car. Poe has been my best friend for the last year and a half. Take lot and lots pictures of everything before you remove them.[This message has been edited by josef644 (edited 05-29-2012).]

Not sure if I can afford or store a whole parts car. Who knows, maybe when I get around to it I will be able to.

I put the side marker lights back on teh car this morning. I am gonna go for a nice ride tomorrow AM before I start removing the rack to replace all four tie rods.
Not gonna get much done this week as I have the grandchildren here until next weekend.
As it sits today:

I'll take a good picture of it outside the garage tomorrowr.[This message has been edited by josef644 (edited 06-03-2012).]

This is on my 'To Do' list. I have a friend who does this for a living. I am gonna take it to him and let him put in the UV dye. I purchased me a good 51 bulb UV flashlight for $13.00 at Amazon.com.
