that are half liter bottles , normal cans are 0.33L
we dont have much metal cans here in germany most glas or plastic bottles
but if i remember correct size should be same (diameter)

You should put the shift nob on when trying the different cups/cans. Looks to me that there will be some interference. Looks great though! Any thoughts on puting some together for sale?
