Madcurl's Arch Rival !! (Page 280/315)

Completed:

The idea behind this is to allow for the use of black paint in and around the roof, shelf, and sides of the Audi/Covette area and to break up the red in the front. I've seen it done on newer cars and I think this might work for #020 vs. the entire area being red.

Now for the Lotus wiper area.

Rounded to copy the rest of the body angles.

Chromed fronts are completed and the rears will be the same.

Notice how Steven blacked the 350Z vents, side bumper, and Camero wing.

Photoshop provided by 4.9.

Thanks. It's been a long, long 7 year itch (2005), but the car is coming along. I agree with you regarding blackening the backside of the wing. It gives the car a more aggressive look for the red is a tad bit over powering to look at. I'm headed to the shop now, but it will take another month before I suspect it's finished with the paint job. The Norm's C6 flipper is a tough cookie to tweak and mine has a lot of openings to smooth out.

I wonder if Norm is watching this thread ??

I am sure he is probably pleased with the tweeks you have made ?

I dropped off the extra set of Ferrari mirrors to be painted all black. if and when the car is completed I can see which set looks the best.

I called the shop today and the nose is now prep'd for paint.

Photoshop by Fiero4.9

The desired style and paint for #020. I'm bringing extra black Corvette headlight for visual comparisons.

I'm not 100% sure the black headlamps will look good with the red paint, but I shall see.

25July2012;

Not much progress, but they did do some the details on the front of the nose and around the wiper blade area.

Trends asked me to come down and take a look at the Audi/Corvette splitter. I told Joe to increase the line.

This inner line is okay, but the outer needs more tweaking.

The underbelly needs more tweaking. I see a few pits and more smoothing is in order.

It still rough and needs more sanding.

Most of the areas in and around the lamps won't be seen, but still I like more smoother.

Right now #020 is collecting dust while the nose is getting tweaked. There's a few minor adjustments to the body I see is needed.

I'm not sure how the part was originally mounted, but they used studs to hold the rocker in place and a single screw behind the badge.
