Got a call from the painter today. Said it was done - so will probably pick it up in the next day or two. That means pics to come SOON!

PS - less than 8 weeks to go as I'm takin the whole week off before. Planning a trip to Sarasota to see Mr. Mike before D7!

Thats grrreat! Is Mr. Mike slap'n leather for the chopper?

Depends on how much I pay for paint. I keep telling myself I won't have such a great chance to get the work done right then and there. Color is the only hangup - as he won't do the light tan anymore. Rats and double rats! Has to do with the hide and that the dye is only on the surface. If you scratch the light tan - then it leaves either a very dark line - or very light line - can't remember which.

Mr. Mike sent me samples of the drak tan and dragon. I'll wait until I get the car back home to see what both colors look like and if I think a combo them will work.

It's just like Christmas - only 49 sleeps to go!

Dave, if you do decide to go with Mr Mike's seat covers, make an event out of it too at the car show. Tech session on how to install them. Will save you alot of shipping them up to Toronto, no border fees and sure someone will be curtisy enough if need be to bring them to the show for you.

Plus a bump because I like grump old man too

I had intended to install them at Mr. Mike's in Sarasota. I'm leaving the "Big Smoke" on the Saturday before the D7 show and plan to be in Sarasota on the Monday morning. From there I'd stay overnight - or two - to get the seats done at his shop. Will also be doing the door uppers and lowers and getting new visors. It saves me the shipping duties etc.

I have a line of credit with zero on it now - so should have room for the three pack above! Won't be zero for much longer!

I'd then go to D7 and have my new leather interior ready to show!

That's the plan - anyway.

I saw the paint today and the stripe on the hood isn't perfect - I tiny double line along a very small edge - but it's covered in clear so can't do much except strip the hood and start over. I think I've pushed the shop as far as they'll go. The hood has three coats of color and clear now. They didn't paint the undersides of the hoods and they said they would. I can do this myself later - but it would have been nice for them to do everything they said they would. I can use this as a bargaining chip. I don't think they specialise in this type of work so I'll let it go for now and focus and getting the TAZ back. At least the color I chose is a stock color - easy to match and can get things done by someone else if I like. From more than a foot or two away the stripe looks fine. The rest of the stripes are clean and tight.

Drum roll please!

I picked up the Taz yesterday and skooted her home. Save and warm now. I took a few pictures, but license plate flare made them less than good. Two pictures did turn ok OK. I need to get hold of some work floods to get some really good pictures. For now these two will have to do!

Just waiting for the badges to show up - and if Fiero!fan gets his heaadlight kit will do those before D7, but will most likely will have to hold off on the headlights until after D7... Oh well - here are the pics!!!






In the underground you can really see the deep black cherry! If you look at the pictures closely you should pick up the off black color. Some of the funky highlight lines in these pics are the reflections from the clear.

Istead of flood lights, just put some dark cloth over the plate so you don't get the reflection
