ok, heres the deal with the cupholder insert from a ford escort/tracer late model sedan:

Pic of where it comes from, and how it looks:

Ebay link of one currently 4sale:

An escort forum link:
http://www.feoa.net/modules...&highlight=cupholder

The escort forum compains about them.... rofl, they're lucky they dont have a cupholderless Fiero!
the only smart thing people mentioned was put some velcro on the bottom because a large bottle or something will pull the insert out.

I could not find a listing for the #'s on the bottom, so here we go with everything on the bottom Except the "Type of plastic used" #
CAV.2 44ZG-2393
F8C6-6313562-AAW
SAE PP-T20

hope that helps, supposedly if you can locate 97-2002 tracer/escort they are common.

Oh, and heres what mine looks like out of the mold an hour ago:

Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. I'll say a prayer for you. Take it easy and get well soon as i'm anxious to see those sail windows painted and installed.

next time you're in Harry's, could you look arround for any Festivas with good windshields and subaru Justys? i'm in need of some parts, but it's a 2 hour drive for me and you're ALOT closer.

much appreciated,
Arty

it takes me about 90 minutes to get there, I dont plan on going anytime soon as there was 1 Fiero there and it was a very bad beater, did you try http://www.windshieldstogo.com/ for a new windshield, they are pretty cheap from there for a new windshield, and I know they have a warehouse in lancaster

before I got my hernia surgery I was able to put down several layers of fiberglass to support/build up the size of it, but up until yesterday it looked like crap because I had not cut/sand/trim down some of the drips /overhang etc... I got so bored yesterday that while standing up, I sanded/ground things down til everything was basicly where I want it. tonight I spent a few hours using filler (green) to smooth things out, first time using this stuff so it doesnt exactkly look perfect. (no its not a camoflage center console!)

I was cleaning the garage tonight, dug out my carpet and the heat resistant padding and went to town:
Padding with woven metallic material:

Yeah you forgot to mention that most of the stuff in the garage is gonna make it home in my trunk...or was it the shed? hehe

The carpet and heat shield looks good though, don't know how I missed it after I got back from KoP...Maybe it was the tempting smell of Barbie's burgers

The best is yet to come though, more pics of the center console

Thanks again for the help with the power trunk release, and of course the wonderful burgers. Barbie is a great griller Guess I'll see ya tomorrow morning sometime. Maybe I will even remember to bring my cough syrup this time

I'm glad the stuff will find a good home, lol the carpet was installed before you even came over the first time, see the post time it was 5:30am, I had just finished it 40 minutes earlier.
Believe it or not, those burgers were cooked on a Forman grill in the kitchen! All the taste, none of the grease!
Tomorrow morning, I gotta track down the UPS man for my ULINE nitrile gloves, I burned through 360 gloves in the last 2 weeks and I'm out again. - I cant help it I like to keep my hands and work area as clean as possible

now, on to todays work....

I thought that the sides of the center console were too short, so here I am making the sides longer:

Sides hard....

NEW project!

First part, adding speaker covers/holes to non-B pillar speaker part (blue outline marked and center cut)
next project is a little experiment I am attempting, I have speakers in the hole under the seatbelt so I am putting somewhat of a speaker pod at the top of the foam block, and if you look carefully (will add closeup eventually) theres a "L" shape cut into the bottom, thats going to support a L shaped part that the T-TOPS will sit on top of, behind the seats.

Jebus, I gotta take it easy... groin is sore as hell. you can be the grunt and ill be the supervisor

I can do the headliner NP, but asking me to do anything on the car involves bending over/leaning and I need to restrict myself from that tomorrow, I shouldnt have moved that crap in the shed I think I over did it, plus the damn cat made me hurt trying to catch it tonight.
