Hello all, Earlier this year I picked up a 87 GT with a 3.4swap and a 5 speed. I got the car running decent and driving, but the tune defiantly needs refined. Regardless, I purchased the Moates ALDL cable and got Tunerpro. And the problem I am having is finding which bin to define the car. I used a ol GM tech 1 scantool to connect to it. and I ran the computer like a V6 Corsica, and it worked, I was able to see the parameters etc. Now, I have tried to get tunerpro to work, and everytime it never sees the hardware, but the computer sees the cable. Has anyone had this issue before? I attempted to make an account on the Tunerpro forum, but for some reason I never get a conformation email, so I cannot finish making my account to post. Thanks in advance

3.4 iron head or 3400 aluminum head?
Did you get a read on the chip? Use the hex editor to see what the 0x0008 is. A1 and 6D are the most common. If its already got a swap chip, it is probably A1 or the nAst1 code possibly. You need to know what the mask is so the correct ADX file can be used. I assume you have the com port config setup if its seeing the cable.

Most people that swap in a 3.4L long block with the Fiero intake end up selling it as it doesn't work as expected, that is a fact. It's been flow proven time and again that the 2.8L's bottle neck is the airflow / intake manifold system, when you increase the engine displacement with that restrictive intake it only gets worse.
Do you have a proper full 3.4 install or the detrimental chocking the 3.4 with Fiero intake install? No computer can fix that.[This message has been edited by jelly2m8 (edited 11-19-2025).]
