And... the stored code is... ?

I'll go out on a limb and suggest it's got to do with a malfunctioning EGR solenoid.

My thought as well.
To expand on the EGR solenoid thought, also check for vacuum leaks (which turned out to be one of my problems).
There are two barbs on the bottom of the throttle body. The EGR is the smaller of the two. It uses a 90 degree rubber fitting that the hard plastic vacuum line plugs into. From there, the line goes to the EGR solenoid, and then back to the EGR valve. ANY of those lines - or terminations - can cause a vacuum leak. Most of those fittings are at least 35 years old by now, and many have deteriorated.

Did you click on my link? The info there and a reconfigured paper clip will tell you all you need to know.

This picture shows the "conventional" mounting - which is usually under the dash, in most cars.
In the Fiero, the ALDL connector is mounted upside down, on top of the console skeleton (next to the cigarette lighter, behind the black panel.) The A and B pins are the two nearest the passenger side of the car, on the bottom row.

Yes, that is true...

SO, member Romsk created the 'correct' image for the Fiero ALDL...

The two terminals to be jumpered, A and B, are the only two terminals of the ALDL port side by side that have metal contacts within them. The metal contacts are easily seen, therefore identifying where the jumper goes really isn't that big of a deal.
