A while back I acquired the auxiliary gauges that go above the console and the gauge cluster from an 87GT. I wired in the aux gauges on my 86GT a while ago and they work fine but can we just direct plug in the 87 speedometer console and have it working? In short are the speedometer consoles interchangeable and directly compatible?. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. Yes Dennis because in Fiero's the gauges are run directly from the engine sensors which for the most part are the same across all models.

there are some minor differences between the backlit and non backlit gauges though, so it's probably best to swap the entire cluster as opposed to individual gauges. I went through a bunch of nonsense a few years ago trying to make my temp gauge work to find the needle had been barely hitting on of the covers. ------------------ "I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. I invited Lou Dias to trash me in my own thread, he refused. sorry. if he trashes your thread going after me. I tried.

Thanks for the replies guys. Kind of figured that but the early and late gauges seem to have differences in the workings. The return to zero function 86-88, and the early speedometer uses a separate outboard buffer for the sender sine wave signal. I assume this is all taken care of on the cluster board.
