Got my old school sbc swap running but having engine run on issue with a MSD ignition. Engine will continue to run with the ignition off. MSD recommends a one way diode on either the "brown" alternator wire or the charging lamp indicator. I'm not sure where I should install the diode on an 88 Fiero with stock alternator. Is there a wire on the alternator harness I have to tap into or can I tap into the voltage gauge? not good at wiring so speak slowly

Its wired wrong, the coil power needs to be wired to the Ignition switch directly, Pink wire from the original harness.
