Have new brake calipers, new flex hoses. System was recently bled to remove any trapped air. PROBLEM: seems like there is a larger than desired brake pedal movement to engage braking. (Pedal moves a lot before any braking occurs. Any ideas?
OK I have had the brakes Bled and I really don’t notice much improvement. Pedal still has lots of travel before brakes take hold. Waiting at a traffic stop pedal is very low and I need to Keep heavy pressure to keep the car stopped. I am wondering if the BRAKE BOOSTER could be thr culprit. Anyone know symptoms of a non working or failing power brake booster??
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.[This message has been edited by Sledgehammer (edited 09-12-2025).]

What is the year and model? I had the same problem with mine and just want to see if you have the same model as me.

Did the problem start after you replaced the calipers and lines because it could be that the system just isn’t bled quite enough.
I would also make sure that the new calipers are the same as the factory ones

Is the pedal soft? Most likely the braking system was not bled sufficiently. I have found that the vacuum bleeder works the best. Just make sure that you bleed the wheel cylinders in the proper sequence. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. I had the same problem when I rebuilt my calipers. I bled them until the brakes were solid and then took it for a drive. The brakes were really soft, so I bled the brakes again and more air came out. What you could do is bleed them, take it for a drive, and then bleed them again. It worked for mine.

Air in the lines (more bleeding required), or the parking brake piston is not properly adjusted causing the rear pads to be too far from the rotor.

Normally it is RR / LR / RF / LF but the Fiero brake lines are routed different...
I believe the correct brake bleed sequence on a Fiero is Left Rear / Right Rear / Right Front / Left Front
Why? Because the Rear brake line is routed down the passenger side to the rear brakes; so, the Left Rear Caliper will be the farthest away from the master.
