Locating Battery 12V and Ground connections Under dash????? (Page 1/1)

Just finishing off the installation of remote locks on my 85GT Ragtop. Having difficulty finding a good location for a constant 12V battery feed for the power door lock transmitter/receiver module. There are many wires there but need the right ones. So far what I have checked are all ignition/accessory switched but nothing constant. Looking in the manual now but would appreciate suggestions.

The radio will have a constant 12v to keep the clock accurate, along with the cigarette lighter, those run off the "bat" fuse, and I think it goes to the convenience center to (for the dinger if you don't turn off headlights etc.)

So if your module is by the fuse box, tap into that, if under the passenger dash, something on the board with the blue dingy thingy/hazard flasher will have constant power, if in the center, radio or cigarette lighter.

IIRC, the fuse box has a BAT connection on the front face that can be tapped.

Thanks for the tips. I realized that the cigarette lighter has battery power but was hoping to get a feed closer to where the control box was located on the driver's side. The logic was to get closer to the power center and to tap off there. Will be back to the chore on Saturday.
