No start/No idle issues (Page 1/1)

Hi, so I've been working to restore my Fiero for a while. I've had it for about 20 years now but it was sitting for about 9 years now and I have had many wires chewed up by mice. I've finally gotten to the point where I can get it started with starting fluid but I have no idle. So far, I've changed out:

Pcv valve
Egr valve
Iac valve
Tps sensor
Spark plugs
Plug wires
02 sensor and connector

I've finally found where one of the negative wires was chewed through and repaired that. Today I finally found a cut pink wire coming out of the harness near where the o2 sensor connects to it. I have no idea where this wire is supposed to connect to.

I assumed it was the coolant temp sensor since it was in the general vicinity but I can't find any evidence of where its supposed to lead to.

Hi, what year, and is it a V6 or a 4cyl?

What (if anything) is the fuel pressure?

I suggest a printed Factory Service Manual as it has all the wiring diagrams...

OR use this link:

Digital Fiero Factory Service Manuals

I haven't checked any of that yet. I've been wondering if I'm not getting any power to the fuel pump.

Turn the key to RUN without pushing into START

You will hear the fuel pump prime IF you have power...

If you don't hear the fuel pump prime for two seconds when you turn the key to RUN... connect 12v from the cigarette lighter to the fuel pump terminal of the ALDL port. This bypasses the relay, and the pump will run if it hasn't seized. Even if it runs, there may still not be any fuel pressure if the short length of hose in the tank has ruptured/rotted.
