As the title suggests- I need a new flasher...Preferably one that is a bit louder than the original one (My hearing is getting bad- I can't even hear that guy in the mirror during our arguments (I always lose the arguments)

Times and technology change. New flashers are not electro-mechanical but 100% electronic. The new ones are in a plastic module and make no noise. The advantage of the electronic units is that they will operate and flash LED taillights. If you want the flashing noise then try to locate the old style flasher in the round metal case.

I actually bought one at O'Reilly's....It is made by Novita...LF12; Extra loud....I noticed it was made in a country called "Usa"....Can't find it on the map!

Anyway, I will test it soon and let you guys know how well it works...

Update; Plugged it in and it works as a flasher- but I can-not hear it at all- Maybe I should get some wires to extend the harness and then stick it in my ear....

The plastic-case flashers are rubbish; over time, they deform and crack under the pressure from the spring clip which holds it beneath the steering column. Once the case deforms/cracks, movement of the contact is blocked, and then the flasher stops working.

I have a plastic-case flasher on my Fiero, but I had to fabricate a new steel clip (with a more gentle squeeze rather than sharp contact points) in order to install it.

The flasher which goes in the convenience center is less picky because it doesn't have a metal clip going around it.

Expanding on this idea, perhaps you can add an auxiliary clicker (perhaps a relay or a solenoid).

The clicker could be located in the driver's side b-pillar, possibly attached to the B-pillar trim plastic so that the plastic resonates and acts as a sounding board.

Most of us drive newer vehicles that have solid state flashers. My Fiero uses one as well. Most seem perfectly fine with quiet flasher operation. Flasher activation is always seen on the dash in a blinking light around the speedometer . Am I missing something here, but why would we need noise?

You can wrap the flasher in something similar to shipping foam or padding to spread the load from the clip.

I have always had a problem with not being able to clearly see the turn-sig dash lights- A) They are not very bright, and B) The FLAT plexi over the instruments does an absolutely fantastic job of reflecting light from my shirt...

My hearing is going so I need one that is louder- strangely, the one in my 2008 Uplander drives me up the wall with how loud it is....

You could try green LED replacements for the 194 bulbs, such as from superbrightleds.com.
