Forgive me if this is common knowledge, but I found this mystery weight/emergency hockey puck bolted to the top of the engine cradle just ahead of the pass. side motor mount when I was doing my 3400 swap into my 86 2m4. It's solid steel, about 4" in diameter and was just bolted there with that single bolt doing, apparently, nothing useful so I left it off.

These are the best posts... I love the "What is this?" challenges, haha.
My daughter's Fiero had one of those too, and we left it on there after cleaning it up... but I'm wondering if this will make a difference on V6 engines too. What harmonics is it trying to smooth out?
