Fiero fuel lines are now almost 40 years old and should be changed. I always upgraded the fuel lines to steel braided hose on on the work I have done. On the feed line I started at the gas filter w an AN male fitting and on the return a flared line to male AN fitting was used. You might want to download and look at the Russell catalog as they have everything. From memory you will need a 16mm male -6AN male adapter to attach to the gas filter

The steel hard lines themselves are probably OK, if they aren't rusted through. But you do want to replace the rubber lines that connect the hard lines to the fuel sending unit, etc.

Not sure whether this video will help, but my daughter removes and re-installs the lines here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t_tSGGtxBw

She hand-sanded them, and they were in decent shape... (no rust), and then ceramic coated them.

While I am doing a 3.5 v6 engine/transmission swap into my 86 GT I went ahead and replaced the original fuel delivery system.

Be carefull to use teflon lined braided hose. The rubber lined one won't like petrol/gasoline and will let vapours out which will make your garage smell bad.😉

Braided stainless lines end up being sandpaper to any surface they rub against, so I prefer the teflon lined nylon braded lines. They are also less flashy, which I like.

Be sure to get quality lines and nothing from ebay or amazon (unless of a known brand). Made that mistake and the hose part begin splitting within less than a year.

My fuel pump died right after I finished break-in procedure on the dyno so I decided to do a complete overhaul. First thing was get the tank out and modified it with a very baffling trickery to keep the fuel at the rear of the tank under acceleration and deceleration. I got away from the in-tank pump design and I'm using an external pump now. After the tank was finished it was time to clean the inside before coating.

The sump at the end ensures I have at least a gallon of fuel at the rear of the tank at any conditions. The lower/supply fitting is a -12an and the return on top of it is a -8an.

Gave it a nice coat inside with a material that is made for use with any alcohol fuel.

External fuel pump set up.

I even changed the injectors because they orange were full of trash just like the pump was. Notice the different nozzles, the black injectors will provide much better atomization.

All the hoses now are the same ones on my intake manifold, -10an except for the feed to the pump which is -12an and the return that is -8an.
I don't have a single stock hose or line on my car. All hoses and fittings are XRP.

Russell products are the hose/fitting source. Their braided fuel lines seem made of a rubber compound and they say that their lines are good for gasoline and all oils. I use them on my Fiero fuel lines and on my transmission cooler lines. No problems in 10 years.
