Clutch Problems (Page 1/1)

Fiero K swap is underway but im having a lot of trouble with bleeding the clutch system. right now im running a Miata master cylinder with an RSX slave on the RSX tranny. every time I try to pump the peddle, the reservoir wont drain. ive tried doing the whole opening the bleeder, pushing the clutch in, closing the bleeder then repeat about a dozen times. Ive tried using a brake bleeder, ive tried using a syringe to fill the slave from the bleeder. I went as far as bench bleeding the master and it still wont work.

Am I missing something? I had trouble with this with the stock clutch system as well. I know since the clutch system is so large on these cars it can be difficult.

If you bench bled the master and it did not move any fluid, then the master is bad.

If it did move fluid, then there likely is a blockage in the clutch line between the master and slave. You might try clearing it out with compressed air, but make sure you put a hose on one end to capture the brake fluid and collect it (it will eat many paints).

If everything with the clutch hydraulics is as it should be, just opening the bleeder on the slave should be enough to allow the system to gravity bleed. Raising the front of the Fiero can help as well.

So I went ahead and redid the fitting on the master side and blew the hose out with compressed air to clear any bullshit inside the tubing. While I was at it I decided to bench bleed the master again. Which worked, it was pumping fluid as it should. I got every thing connected and it still won't do anything so now in really confused. I think in gonna lift the front end up and crack the bleeder and let it sit for a bit to see if any fluid travels through the master at all.
