I'm replacing my Pioneer DEH-D77PH car radio with an Android head unit. Everything is connected except for one wire. The Pioneer has a wire labeled "System Remote Control," which, as far I can see, connects to the Performance Sound module. Unfortunately, the module is hard to reach, so I can’t see exactly where that wire goes.
From what I’ve read, the "System Remote Control" output on the Pioneer is just a low-current trigger meant to turn on external amplifiers. So I assume the Performance Sound module has an input for this signal. The Android head unit, however, doesn’t have a dedicated amp trigger output - it only has a power antenna output, which I suppose I could use instead.
That said, I’m wondering: why not just connect the module’s input to the ACC (accessory) line in the Fiero? Wouldn’t that achieve the same effect?

You can use the antenna wire to trigger a relay to power the factory amp. You can wire the amp to accy as you mention, but it will be on at all times with the key.

Yes, but that's the thing I don't get. Apparently I had used the "System Remote Control" output from the Pioneer - which is [b]not[b] a high enough current output to power the performance sound system. So does it have a separate power and trigger input?

Ok, looked at the schematics n the service manual and the subwoofer amp has a "mute". 0 V = mute, 12V = unmute. So I can probably hook it directly to the ANT out of the head unit.
