Is the 4 speed M17 Muncie part number the 4T40E?

Looking to replace the axle seals and need the correct model number.

no thats an auto trans. you need the 4 speed manual.
they do allegedly fit from a 4t60
psrt number for a known axle seal is from autozone:
3543

For more context, I'm looking at these as a more beefier replacement and need to make sure they're correct for my transmission

Those were popular some time ago, but many people had problems getting them to seal properly.

They really don't do much to beef up anything, are a pain to install and once they are installed, you will not be able to get regular axle seals to work again.

My vote is to save your money and don't give yourself a headache.
