Has anyone ever come across a noise like this ? Haven't been able to narrow it down yet. L67 m90, there was an exhaust leak I fixed that, blower coupler seems good ran it with no belt still the same noise. Im down to lifters, injector, or rod. I'll take any suggestions though, oil is new and at the proper level
**I got no idea why the video won't attached I've tried it in the 3 options this site allows when you tap on the camera icon[This message has been edited by jmac87tt (edited 02-16-2025).]

There's a "camera icon"? (I use a PC and don't see any icons.)
To embed a video here, you need to upload it to YouTube, copy the URL from the browser, and then insert the address (with no spaces) between

That's pretty good for your first time. To embed the video, as mentioned earlier, use the browser's URL address for the video at YouTube. (Click EDIT on this post to see how I've done it.)

It's almost like a hissing sound that's consistent with the engine. Does the sound decrease after the engine fully warms up... or I should say, does the sound CHANGE when the engine fully warms up?
To me, it sounds like an exhaust leak...
Any chance you can record another video (just like this one), but be in the car and give the engine a little rev here and there (not crazy) just a little rev to see how it sounds with RPM changes?

Yea I could prob do another video tomorrow. The exhaust is very short I thought about just dropping it to see if the sound changes to eliminate it down to just the manifolds but there are no signs of leaks, black spots soot or burns etc. I found the collector leak by doing a smoke test but stopped at that. I don't believe it's a vac leak I have 18-20" vacuum at idle and that's where the noise is most prevent. Almost like something slapping

sounds kinda like spark knock but the worrying part is it sounds like the 2001 gtp my buddy had (3800 series 2 with the supercharger) which had a very similar sound until the trans blew up. you could try putting the clutch in and see what happens? edit: just realized its the same sound as the 88 Tangerine menace. its your getrag making that sound[This message has been edited by cartercarbaficionado (edited 02-16-2025).]

Sounds more to me like a collapsed lifter, but it's difficult to determine listening to a video.
