Im working on my sbc swapped car that hasn't been together in 10-12 years now. It's a carbed motor so wiring isn't very complicated but still not dumb simple in the way I cut up the harness back in the day. Anyway is there anything that would cause an audible pop in the engine bay then second power was supplied? Battery is in the front so couldn't locate exactly where the pop came from. I believe I have everything hooked up as it was when running (that does not mean correctly) but again that was awhile ago. Thanks

FYI - Always connect the positive terminal first, then the negative terminal.
When disconnecting; the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal.

Do you have power in the passenger compartment? You could have popped one of the fusible links.

I'm going to check power to everything next time I'm in the garage. I was wondering if a usable link would make an audible pop.
