Fuel pump questions (Page 1/1)

The fuel pump in my low mileage Pace Car looks like it bit the dust. No sound of the relay or pump. Did the voltage connection to the G port and ground port on the ALDL (84 FSM calls it the ALCL), and nothing. Pretty sure the pump is dead.

So I decided to double check part number to see if the 84 and/or 4 cylinder uses a different pump than other years or the V6. The 22P has me a bit confused. There are 4 pages with illustrations and part numbers:

3-1 1984 P fuel supply system
p/n 6471959

3-2 1985-1986 P fuel supply system 2.5L L4
85 p/n 6472421
86 p/n 6472526

3-5 1985-1986 P fule supply system - 2.8L
NO part number listed for "pump" (curious)

3-7 1987-1988 fuel supply system
p/n 25115462 (2.5R, no different listing for 2.8)

I've done several fuel pumps in 88 V6s, but I want to make sure that I'm getting the right pump for the 84.

Additional question, does the 4.9 swap use a stock pump or higher volume? Thanks.

I believe DELPHI FE0115 is your best option...

Cadillac 4.9bused the same pump as the V6 Fiero used.

I've had one in my 4.9 Formula and it works A-OK

I looked up fuel pumps on Autozone's web site, and it gave different part numbers for an 84 and an 88 V6. Fiero Store lists one fuel pump. Does the 84 and/or 4 cylinder use a different fuel pump?

4-cylinder TBI engines use a lower pressure fuel pump ~ 12psi
V6 engines with MPFI run higher pressure for their fuel injectors ~ 42psi

RockAuto lists the same Delphi FE0115 pump for the '84 2.5 and the '88 2.5 engine (likely for all 2.5L years)

If GM listed different numbers for 2.5L pumps, it was likely because the connector was different.
