radiator/condenser/fan - throw away? (Page 1/1)

When I bought my fiero a couple years ago, it came with some extras. The PO gave me an extra radiator/fan/condenser and related rusty mounting hardware. they are a unknown condition and I wouldn't feel comfortable selling it unless I knew they were good. I'm leaning towards throwing them away. Are these things valuable at all or can they quickly be bought?

Donating them to scrap metal recycling facilities or choosing a reputable recycling facility for proper disposal.

Radiator and Condenser I'd offer for free at least with the understanding that condition unknown. That stuff is harder to find. What one would get at the recycler probably isn't worth the gas to take it there.

Having said that, Many of us are running around with 36 year old or older radiators and condensers and they are still working 100%

Still have 38 year old condensers on my Fieros . They still work 100% and have never replaced them. As for radiators my 85GT raptop still runs an original and that also works. On my 3800SC the radiator worked but replaced it with a Champion for improved cooling. The old one went in the 85 Fiero ( stick to auto conversion) and it still works too. I've lucked out but for the heater core not so much. Have not replaced a radiator fan to date but keep a spare.
Are we tempting fate with these old units?

Yeah, I think we've all eventually discovered puddles of coolant in our Fiero's passenger side footwell.
