I see on Fiero Guru's site that he recommends Moog 7634 springs to be cut down for the front, for stiffer springs, I can't find 7634, but I do see Moog 7636, which goes on the same car as 7634, just came on a select few of the larger engines, while 7634 came on the smaller engines, 7636 is also on other vehicles, ironically including my daily driver haha. So my question is, what is the difference between those 2, are they slightly different spring rates? They should be the same physically, so either one should cut down and work on a Fiero, and if they are both pretty close in spring rate, then the newer, more available one is the obvious choice for people wanting stiffer front springs, right?
Also, his article is for lowering an 88 front, but he also mentioned using 84-87 springs cut down for the 88, I would assume that the Moog springs work on 84-87 as well?

Ok, found a Moog chart, the inner diameter is the same, same ends, same "bar diameter", the free length is 13.81" for the 7636, compared to 13.5" for the 7634, by the picture they look to be the same number of coils, and the listed spring rate for the 7636 is 265lb/in, no rate listed for the 7634 though to compare.

The 84-87 springs have to fit around the bumpstop cone in the center of the springs and the 88's don't have that issue. This means the ID of the spring is a big concern for 84-87 fitment and much less of an issue for the 88s.
Also, the 88 spring fitment is about 1" shorter than the 84-87.
Springs that work for the 88 won't always work for the 84-87.
