Please help, fueling problem. (Page 1/1)

Need help. I've got an '87 Fiero that was up graded to a 3.8 SC engine. I was having trouble with the ignition switch, & when dropping the column to replace it, noticed the whole column was pretty trashed, so I replaced the whole thing. Job went well, it started right up and I took her for a spin of several miles. I stopped at a gas station to fill up & it hasn't run since. It cranks fine, and I can even get it to start & run if I spray starting fluid into the intake, so it's obviously a fueling problem. Here's a couple pics of the nightmare I have for a fuse block. I'm hoping I don't have to drop the tank & replace the pump. Is there any way I can check to see if power is going there without dropping it?
Thanks in advance.

Hi! If everything is still connected as it should be, there's a direct line to the fuel pump in the ALDL connector.

This is the first one I found, but the ports are the same. Be mindful of the orientation... the one on the Fiero might be upside down in order for how it gets mounted in the center console. I think you know that, right? The ALDL connector is located behind the black plate in the center console... same one the cigarette lighter comes out of.

My daughter also has a video (before replacing the fuel pump) of how she drained the fuel tank by running a positive feed from the battery to this lead... this is how you can force the fuel pump to run (in case it's a relay problem or something).

Here's the second video (repairing the fuel tank, painting it, and re-installing it): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjSwSwweYZY

On the firewall there is a connector that brings the power and gauge lead signal out. Separate the connector, apply 12V to the fuel pump lead and ground. The pump should turn on and produce pressure. On my Fiero its the gray wire but that can vary by model year.

Did it start briefly and then die after getting a new tank of fuel? If so, you may have gotten water instead of gasoline.
