This might be a little off subject. But I'm installing a 3.4 in my 87 s10 tahoe. The original harness has a knock sensor plug. Does the sensor go to the left of the crank sensor, ( passenger side ) in the drain plug hole ? Thanks Rick

After some more research, I've decided to use the drain plug.

If I'm not mistaken, the knock sensor on the 3.4 literally bolts to the side of the engine block... usually the driver's side. At least the newer V6/60s... I don't know about the 1st gen ones (like in the Camaro / Firebird, or S10).

The Camaro/Firebird 3.4 does have a port on the passenger side of the block where the knock sensor bolts in. I don't remember if it's above or beside the freeze plug. I think maybe above so it has inside clearance between the cylinder walls.
