What are the solutions for e-brake with C4 Calipers on an 88 ? (Page 1/1)
falcon_ca NOV 21, 09:13 PM
I am in the process of installing C4 calipers at each corners of my modified Formula.

I Obviously wants to keep a functional e-brake.

I was thinking about fabricating an adapter to put between the Fiero cable and the C4 Caliper lever.

Any other advise or existing solutions outhere?

Can I simply use C4 cables with the Fiero hardware?

I view the eBrake as primarily a parking brake. If you wish to use your brake in that fashion, you can purchase a bracket that locks the pedal in the pressed down position. It serves two purposes a parking brake and a lock to prevent theft.
Also noticed that you did the 4,9L swap. I have one in my stable of Fieros, It may not be a modern design but its a durable, and economic swap to drive and you will enjoy the strong throttle response. I would run premium gas in that engine and bump the timing up by 2*.
BTW, all your links do not work,

For what it's worth, I adapted the C4 Corvette cables to work on my 1987 GT. Here is a link to my documentation:

https://www.fiero.nl/forum/.../HTML/147506.html#p0

The reality is that the cables pull the levers on the rear calipers fully, yet the parking brake STILL does not work that well. I am stymied as what the problem may be since the levers on the calipers are pulled full on.

Make it easy on yourself and ditch the C4 calipers and install fieroguru's 13 inch brake upgrade kit using the OEM 88 Fiero calipers.....
