Auto trans neutrals out in sharp corners. oil slosh? deeper pan? (Page 1/1)

Last year i had my all stock 88 at the waterford hills road course. in a couple of the big sweepers, the trans would go neutral. i just coasted through those corners a bit. would baffles help? i can get a 1/2" sheet of aluminum to fab a spacer and drop the pan a half inch lower. Has anybody ever seen a deep sump pan? i tried putting more fluid in, and it started smoking. Any other ideas?

When I had this problem, it was an indication that the transmission fluid level was low. It was the same issue... I'd be going around a turn while powering through... and the transmission would just "slip" ... almost like it was in neutral. I filled up the transmission with more fluid, and it fixed it. I assume you've checked the transmission fluid level?

Did you check the fluid level... when it was hot... with the engine running?

Add another liter of trans fluid and see if your theory works.

The new Z06's recommend an ' overfill ' for track duty

If you try that, take a sucker of some type to lower oil level or the over fill can, often will, cause problems driving normally.
Oil "G lock" sideways or Extra oil can be whipped to foam to the point the pump is sucking air & won't stay in gear.
"G locked" oil can do that during a race, Extra oil can do that during driving on the street.
