Which filter is usually specified; is it the "shorty" filter like the AC Delco PF47? The longer PF52 will thread right on there but you should check beforehand in case there is anything in the way.

I have used the PF52 on many GM cars where the short PF47 was originally specified. As do a lot of other folks.

The longer oil filter fits no problem on the '84-'87 duke. The '88 duke is... different.

PF52 Now is shorter then everything else like any ends 3980 follow links in cave.

Long Filter will affect oil volume but only ~ 1 - 1.5 cup.
put 4 quarts in, check level after running, add to full mark on stick.
