Replacing the radio back to period correct with a 1989-94 Pontiac radio. I got the harness all wired up.
Three questions; 1- car's antenna wont fit in back of radio now. What adapter is needed? 2- Any idea why the LED blue display doesn't work? (orange wire to orange, right?)
3- What is the black (grey) connector? coming out of dash? See pic

Connector is battery power to radio memory and lighting. There's a pigtail on the radio that plugs into it.

Thanks except my radio is a 1989-94 Pontiac radio and doesn't have the same connectors. But now at least I know the plugs functions. Thanks. Steve

Buy the harness for the 1989-94 Pontiac radio from replacementradios.com. It's prewired and the plugs from the Fiero wiring harness plug into it and it plugs into the 1989-94 Pontiac radio. No cutting or splicing. Well worth the money, IMO. I used it in both of my cars when I installed Monsoons in them.

IIRC, there was a 90 degree adapter installed from the factory.

Thanks but as the OP says I have a 89-94 Pontiac radio that has a different harness, its not a "Fiero radio". The harness Im using is this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B...dt_b_product_details
Its all connected and works fine. My question was about the display light. As for the connector shown its integrated into the newer style harness. Thanks for that heads up.[This message has been edited by 72and86 (edited 11-18-2021).]

The adapter I linked is for GM 89 and up radios installed in 88 and prior vehicles. It's a no-splice harness. The factory harness plugs into one end, the other end plugs into the radio and it includes the harness for the memory and illuminaton.
