My current 282 has the 2.19 second and 1.02 fourth. I've building a 3.94 box for it. Judging by how much the 1.02 fourth wakes it up compared to the 0.94 fourth, the 3.94 final is going to rip.

Yes.
He also had the transmission out of the car for work/repairs a bunch of times.

Including breaking the left bearing boss right off the diff carrier... which is an impressive testimony to the strength of the case.

he had an F23 failure, but it was related to the work he performed, IIRC, he installed an oil slinger wrong and messed up the bearings.
