Cruise Control Filter (Page 1/1)

I have a question about what to replace the filter that goes on the cruise control vacuum valve assembly. It has rotted off and I would like to replace it with something .

What have you guys used?

Thanks!

??
There was actually something on that thing? Hence the metal clip.

I would say that most cars don't have anything anymore after 30+ years!
Mine doesn't, and the cruise control still works fine.

Rafe

I block of open cell foam provided filtration of the incoming air on the vacuum dump solenoid.
I have made them, no replacements are available as far as I can tell.

Well,

I came up with a solution... I may not need to bother, but since the GM engineers seemed to be concerned, then so am I.

Just cut the end off of a cheap foam paint brush.

Then stretch it over the end of the tube and the metal clips, and you have yourself a filter. If it gets dirty or damaged, you may have to sacrifice another paint brush.
