Did you add anything to the deck lid? There is a different bar if you had a wing. It is stronger to help with the extra weight of the wing.

you are the second person i have hear this happen to.

i have no idea how it could happen but i believe you.

I took the deck lid off of the hinges, and didn't adjust the hinges on the firewall. but it doesn't stay open most of them time now.

somewhere is the step by step of how to adjust the springs.

how knows i dont have any thing to do tonight so i might try to look it up and do it.

if i find the thread i'll link to it here.

If you did not take the pin's out that hold the spring's (this pin can be moved from hole to hole to add or subtract spring tension) then you inadvertantly flipped one of the spring links over. This will nulify one of the springs, so only one of the springs is holding up the lid. If you took out the pin's you may have put them back in the wrong hole. If one or both links were flipped over you need to take off the deck lid to readjust the link/links.

well i dont know about wildbill86gt, but i never touched that torx bolt
Rickady88GT NOV 19, 10:37 PM
You dont need to take out the torx, it can flip just by takeing off the deck lid and moving the hing around

ok. well they are both pointing towards the rear of the car when the lid is open.

If you look at this pic you will see 3 pink spots.
My deck lid pins started in the middle (this is an after shot)
