The heat sink on the ICM of my 2002 GTP 3800 SC that i am building for my 84 cracked when removing the bolts holding it to the bracket. Can i use a heat sink from another 3800 NA? Are ICMz interchangeable? ------------------ Astronomy says we will find a coded signal from outer space. Then we'll KNOW that life exists there, for coded signals aren't by chance.

1996 to 2004 the same ICM. Coils and plugs different on SC engines. Some models had a boss for an idler pulley but they bolted to the head the same way. If an earlier Series 1 has Delco module, the base is the same. Some of the early ones were Motorola. Most of the 92-95 were Delco. Most of the 3.8 and pre series were Motorola. 2005 to 2008 is a toss up depending on which coils. GM started using offset coils around that time. (middle coil reversed/offset from the others). I have my coils mounted on the rear head, over the low mounted alternator. The ICM bracket was originally from a 1993 Park Avenue Ultra Series 1, but have also used it on 1998 Series II SC and now 2005 Vin K N/A

You're talking about the metal plate underneath the coils right?
if so, I'd say yes.. it's interchangeable. they changed how the bolts work but I think it still works regardless.

Yeah, the metal plate underneath is the heat sink i believe. But that of course raises another question: are the ICMz for the SC and NA versions the same, meaning that they will work the same?

I can't speak for all years. but I just checked rockauto for a 2002 grand prix.. both the NA 3.8 and SC 3.8 use the same part number for the ICM
