Driprail delete? Hmm... (Page 1/2)

I've read the FAQ thread about removing the driprails to facilitate painting, quarter glass replacement or what have you. But then I got to looking around at all the other vehicles on my lot, and the only other two (out of 9) that have driprails have them as "permanent" parts of the bodywork. Which, naturally, led me to wonder, if I leave them off the Fieros, do I lose anything in the transaction? Anyone? Bueller?

I removed them when I repainted my 87 GT in 2000.
They were banged/bent up and I planned to buy new ones.
BUT they were discontinued and I couldn't find any.

Haven't had them since.
Not a problem unless you're in a real DOWNPOUR when getting in/out.

I took mine off when I painted it a few years back and just never put them back on. I quite like the look.

Anything I might say is probably worth what you paid for it, so treat it accordingly!

Different angle to look at.

Looks good, ltlfrari. I felt I would like the "smooth car" look; it's even better than I expected. I'd like to see someone's GT without driprails, but while I wait I'll try to sell my wife on the delete for her '84. Thanks for posting pics!
