What kind of fluid should I be running can my 4t65 e HD Dexron 3 or Dexron 6 I've heard it both ways I'd rather do 3 for obvious pricing issues

Depending on model year the 4T65eHD Dextron III or Dextron IV was specified . On my 2006 3800SC powertrain Dextron IV was specified. ------------------

Dexron VI is a better fluid, and you will have longer life in the transmission with it.
It will run on III obviously, but VI is the preferred choice.
