Drip Rail (Page 1/1)

Has anyone used door edge trim to replace damaged drip rail on a GT?

I heven't but my driprails are damaged so that inspires one to look for alternatives. The local auto glass place has a selection of things like that. Not open right now though.

drip rails are toast if damaged....but you should find some if you ask in the Mall.

I did find some from members here, but shipping is a problem as damage will most likely occur.

Did you contact Silver85sc? I ordered inner and outer for both sides and received them in a timely manner in good shape.
This is how they came.

drip rails are above the window......dew wipes are below it......

You are correct. Don't seem to read much about anyone needing drip rails. Until I am cleaning or waxing I hardly ever look at mine. Well, maybe a large heavy cardboard tubing idea might make a good shipping option. Just saying

I am going to buy a short length of cheap door edge, if I like it, I'll get some quality stuff. I'll post a pic.

One trick customizers do is eliminate the drip rail above the side windows completely. Just smooth in the seams with SMC filler, prime and paint. Of course rain water will run down on you when you open the door.

I would definitely get rid of mine but without them there is a gap where the two roof sections meet up that the drip rail covers. With the way they are shaped it would take a huge cardboard box to ship a set without damage.
