Has anyone done 3d scanning and 3d printing of obsolete parts? (Page 1/1)

I have a T-Top fiero. One of the end caps had to be been repaired. When repairing it I thought about what I would do if I could not repair it. I was wondering of anyone had made a 3-D scan of these hard to find parts so someone could 3-D print one out when they were needed.

Anyone?

If you can provide dimensional inputs, there are companies online that can 3D print anything in metal. An expensive printer is needed to cut 3D metal parts so it would not be cost effective for a car hobbyist to buy one. Best bet is to use an online service.

Member "camel" on here used to reproduce them. I have no idea if he is still making them but he would be the one to ask.

After posting this I ran up on his site, I think. Nice to know these pieces can be purchased.

That said, I wish I could find a cost effective method to get these hard to find pieces in to a digital file so anyone could 3D print their own.
