The outer door skins on the 84 have three christmas trees to hold the top of the door to the skin. i can't get my christmas trees back in, but i can see them starting into the hole because the dew wipe is off . i have put a lot of pressure on them including a vice grip but to no avail. What am i missing here?

They are not as soft as they used to be.....I think you have 2 options:
1. get new parts that match.....may be available at a body shop supply store near you. 2. Boil the parts.....or at least get them hot and see if they are more bendy.
