07 3800 na with a 06 Grand prix wiring harness in a 86 Fiero. I have turned off the VATS with HP tuner. The engine won't run, we get one pulse of the injectors then nothing. The engine will run with starter fluid sprayed into the intake. I have gone through the harness numerous times and can find no problems. We have changed the ECM, Ignition module and the crank position sensor with no change. I am at a loss as to were to go from here. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Any DTCs?
Does your PCM data show cam and crank signals are good?
If you have access to an oscilloscope, are the CMP/CKP signals good and square and in sync?

The 06 pcm that you are using is a DRW computer. It must use the gas pedal module and the correct GTP fuel pump to work correctly. If yu do not wish to go full DRW operation then obtain a series II engine PCM. If the powertrain is using an automatic (4T65eHD) the only PCM that will shift that model year transmission is the 03 GTP PCM. To disable VATS using HP tuners editing program you must do the following:
1. Set the VATS value to "PWM" This is under system "security" 2. Set DTC P1626 to "3 - No Error Reported" 3. Set DTC P1629 to "3 - No Error Reported"
Additionally you might need to set 4. Set DTC P1630 to "3 - No Error Reported" 5. Set DTC P1631 to "3 - No Error Reported"
If you have done the full blown DBW hookup and this does not work then I would contact HP Tuners and ask for help

Dennis Thanks for the reply. I checked the file that I used there is no PWM option for the VATS only Serial or none. I have selected none. The DTC's were set to No report. So I am still at a loss as to why the Dam thing won't run.

A little more info. Manual transmission wired the inputs to the ECM so that the ECM thinks the trans is in neutral. Running the DBW with the pedal that came with the harness. The only DTC's reported were, starter circuit AC circuit reports.

Joe. The page on the system tab on HP Tuners editing suite should look like this:
For full VATs delete you sometimes need to delete the starter circuit DTC as well. Some PCMs have a setting as "none" for Vats ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite.
