Water pump probably went bad? (Page 1/1)

Lord forgive me I'm back on the coolant problems.

Car runs great, blah blah blah, it doesnt overheat at all but Ive been losing coolant for a while and now there's a steady stream of coolant coming from what looks to be the bottom of the water pump. Is it dead?

EDIT: What brands should I trust for this one? There are a few on Ebay* for cheap but I would rather not have to do this again in the same month.

* Ebay water pump

Yes.

Where the heck is this coolant leaking from?

Lame. What water pump did you go with, if you remember?

It's mentioned in that thread.

One more question in regard to that thread. I found the same part but it doesnt mention the piece to hold the timing cover in place anywhere. Should I just hope it comes with that piece or will it explicitly say if it does or not

"just hope"? I wouldn't.

There's a reason why I posted what I did in that thread.

I had read about this clamp earlier, but your post was a good reminder to keep this in mind when I went to pick up the pump from a local store. (I could've got the pump for half the price online, but there were a few things I wanted to check in person.)

Yes, making sure the clamp was actually supplied was one of the things I was checking for (along with having a metal impeller).
