so like the title said my speedometer is not working .... i try some stuff i read in a other topic but didnt work i got a fiero 1987 stick shift with a 350 V8 the tranny is original getrag so the VSS is the original one !
i test the VSS resistor and it was 400 ohn and i also try the AC output and everything seem ok i also unplug and clean the plug behind the dash because the rpm was not working and i got it working again so PLUG ARE CLEAN
what should i go next ?
and also im looking for connect the oil pressure gauge back ! anyone know if i can use a oil pressure sender unit on the 350 tpi and some how connect to the oem oil pressure gauge[This message has been edited by moi-maxim (edited 02-27-2020).]

If you've got power to the cluster connector, the next thing would be to check at the pins to the speedo buffer. The laminated "circuit board" on the back of the cluster can get broken or corroded. If you've got power at the speedo buffer, then it sounds like the motor or buffer on the speedo is bad.
As far as the oil pressure sender goes, you should be able to use a stock Fiero unit. The Fiero unit has a 1/4 NPT fitting on the bottom. The SBC should have a 1/4 NPT oil pressure tap on it. There are two on a SBC, 1 near the oil filter, and 1 near the distributor. If you don't have space to mount it directly to the block you can run a line to somewhere more convenient. For wiring it in, that will depend on how badly the wiring was hacked up to install the V8.

Speedo has 3 separate function and 1 or all maybe dead.
Speedo Meter work like Tach. Odo Trip Motor drive. Divider to drive ECM and Cruise.
Quick check for Speedo dead, watch Odo and/or Trip to move... If does then VSS is 100% good. VSS or Speedo board dead trips ECM code 24 but don't count on this. Depending speed and length of drive may not trip that code. Even then only lights CES for a short while.------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. The speedo circuit does not interface with the laminate circuit on the back of the cluster. The plug for the speedo is at the bottom left of the cluster, and plugs directly to the fiberglass speedo board.

Pull the vss and make sure the plastic gear is intact.
