3.1l swap (Page 1/1)
MountainMan09 JAN 13, 07:07 PM
So basically, I ended up buying a 1986 SE that someone attempted to swap a 3.1l engine from a 1991 oldsmobile cutlass supreme into. They got the engine and transmission in, but the wiring is only partially complete. I am new to this, so I am unsure about where to start. There are a bunch of loose wires coming out of the side of the fiero's engine bay next to the battery mount, and I have no idea what any of them are for. I also have no idea how to wire the gauges/console up to the new engine.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance

I think these have something to do with the gauges, they come out of the center console

Welcome to the Forum!
When you say 'I am new to this', are you speaking of this particular car, or being a mechanic? The forum has a lot of helpful people, but we can't take the place of going to school and learning the basics.

New to this car and wiring in general, but not to being a mechanic.

If you don't have a FSM (Factory Service Manuel) you need to get one to help with the task at hand. The 86 Fiero FSM can be down loaded free online.

more pictures would help people identify the issues. What transmission do you have? What transmission did the car have?
