Amzoil synthetic trans fluid (Page 1/1)

Has anyone ever used Amzoil synthetic sychromesh transmission fluid in an 88 GT 5 speed? This Fiero came with 3 bottles of it, like the previous owner was planning on changing it. Thanks for your input.

I think you mean AMSOIL, and yes, that stuff is good to use.

I believe that Dextron 5 is also full synthetic trans fluid but have not read about complete compatibility in transmissions that use Dextron III or IV. You might want to look into that.

Dennis, you might be confusing the issue bringing up Dextron in this thread which is about oil for a manual transmission.

Oh, I agree... I just didn't want anyone getting confused by this thread and trying Dextron in their 4 or 5-spd.

Anyone know, off the top of their heads, what the capacity is for an 88 5 speed transmission? I do not have an 88 service manual (yet).
