What up fam

Trying to do inner tie rods on 86 SE. I have a service manual and can’t figure out how to remove the right ( passenger side ) inner tie rod. Looked at the diagram in the manual it showed dampner adapter how is this attached to the rack. I would like to put a wrench on this and the tie rod to remove it but not sure if it will aid in removing the tie rod.

Any one wonder what rack they have. Found that this rack was color coded yellow where it coupled to the steering column see pic below. I believe it is 3 turns lock to lock.

That works. I've even done this with rack in the car.

I usually put a wrench on that to keep the rack from twisting inside the housing against the pinion gear and a bigger wrench
(pipe wrench works too) on the inner tie rod end. It will take some effort to break loose because the tie rod is staked.

You'll likely have to put it on the floor and stand on it to hold it while cracking the inner tie rod end loose.
